Poster plan
View more presentations from LaceyRoberts.

This is a plan for our poster. We plan to have the boys on one side and the girls on the other, so they're split up like on the TOWIE posters. The logo will be central at the top, again like on the TOWIE posters. We will challenge the convention of this type of soap by using a designer background and over-exaggerating the 'wealth' that these characters have. The Louis Vuitton in the background will make the characters appear tacky as this brand was more of a 'must-have' years ago and now that there are so many fakes it will show how false they are in their appearance and lifestyle.
Magazine cover plan

This is a plan for the front cover of my TV magazine cover. I will have Emma, Dan and Alice on the front cover as they are the characters that are involved in the main storyline of the trailer, therefore this is something the audience will want to read about. I will have Dan and the front of the 3 characters, Emma in the middle and Alice at the back. This is the order of importance in the storyline, this is a convention of 3 people being on the front cover of a TV magazine shown in the examples below. Dan is stuck in the middle of these two girls and he gets caught out, this will be the the story that is in the magazine.

ROUGH CUT

This is my rought cut of our soap trailer. I am making changes to this one because the editing isnt sharp enough, the music doesnt fit in with the edits and sometimes the lyrics of the song overpower the dialogue and we cant hear what the characters are saying.

NEW TV MAGAZINE COVER

This is my final TV magazine cover. I have made all the changes I stated on my previous cover. I changed the colour behind the name of the soaps to blue to make sure they stand out against the pictures, keep consistent with my house-style and the audience notice them. I have also made all the text that was slanted, straight. I think it looks neater and more professional this way. I made the text smaller too, so that it didnt look too crowded at the top.

TV MAGAZINE- ANCILLARY (1ST DRAFT)

This is my first draft at making a TV magazine. I chose to re-do this because it looks a bit too crowded. The text that is slanted, isnt slanted at the same degrees, therefore it doesnt look professional or real.
The names of the soaps dont stand out as they are the same colour and size as the headlines for the other soaps so I need to change these so that they stand out and the audience will know what soaps are in the magazine and what soaps have big storylines that week.

RESEARCH

This is some research i have done into some channels i was thinking to use as my brand and that i was going to broadcast my soap on. I looked at who their target audience was and what programmes they braodcast now and whether my soap would fit in well with these programmes.
After the research i decided that E4 would be the most appropriate channel as it aims their programmes at the same audience i am aiming mine at, and they already show docu-soaps such as Made in Chelsea and Desperate Scousewives.

CHARACTER PROFILES

We will reflect Lucy in Emmas character Chanel as she will fulfill the female stereotype of being overly girly by wearing tight, strapless tops, skinny jeans to show her womanly, slim figure. Her hair and makeup will also be perfect, something society associates with being feminine. She is also protective of her boyfriend (Fred Perry) which relfects Lucy as she was protective of Mark Wright in one of the series.
Dan will mirror Joey Essex in the way he will dress

We will reflect Arg's characteristics using props

PRACTICE ANCILLARY

This is my practice ancillary. I got a screenshot from an episode of Waterloo Road, added some text, branding and the name of the soap. I dont think this is a good poster as the name of the soap is more or less the same size as the text that hints at the storyline, therefore it wont realoly catch the audiences attention.
