COSTUMES
These are an idea of the costumes that the characters will be wearing.
GIRLS:
The left hand side of this image gives an idea of what the girls will be wearing. They will be caked in makeup, false eyelashes to show the fakeness of them and their lifestyle. They will be wearing big, exagerrated jewelry to emphasise the fact that they think they are rich and can afford these things yet they are all cheap versions. They will constantly be in heels to show the glamourous life they live. The fur coats will also be a representation of this.
BOYS:
The boys costume, on the right of the image, connotes a very metrosexual, modern man. They will wear lots of fake tan and drawn on 6 packs, this will show the humour of this soap and reinforce the fact that it is a parody. They will wear sunglasses as if they are famous and trying to hide their eyes. They will also show the TOWIE style by wearing blazers and short shorts.
Q3. AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
To recieve audience feedback I shown friends and family my trailer and they told me what they liked and disliked about it and gave me ideas on what to change and improve.
1ST DRAFT:
"the lyrics of the song dont fit in where Luke is singing"I did notice that this was the case therefore we have decided to remove this from the trailer as it was either early or too late with the transitions between each clip. We used 'Garageband' on the Macs to loop the beginning of the track. The track is still recognizable and works well with idea of the soap.
FINAL DRAFT:
"some of the transitions between clips are missing"
I realized after this was brought to my attention that some of the transitions between each clip were missing. I didnt want them after every clip as it wouldnt look professional but I wanted them between each storyline so the viewer knew when a storyline ended and a new one began.
POSITIVE COMMENTS:
"the song really works well with the idea of the soap"
"it's hilarious!"
"you've shown the characters from TOWIE really well, yet added humour"
1ST DRAFT OF MAGAZINE COVER
This is my attempt at making a magazine cover. I was trying to make it look more like the TV Choice style magazine rather than sophisticated. These style of magazines are more for gossip which is also what this type of soap is based around, rumours and gossip.
I have stuck with the conventions of this type of magazine by having a day by day guide down the side of the page which is colour coded, this makes it easier for the reader to find what they are looking for. I have also featured many other soaps on the cover to make it look busy and eye catching to show there is a lot in the magazine. I have looked at front covers which feature 2 or more stars on the front and placed my 3 stars in a siilar way.
I chose not to go with this design as it doesnt look as professional as the one Dan made.
FINAL BILLBOARD POSTER
This is our final banner, we chose to have the Louis Vuitton background as it reflects the wealth these characters think they have and they think they can afford this brand. This brand in recent years has become of a lower status as many fakes have been made and it has been associated with 'chavvy' people.
The composition of the characters on this is slightly different to the one on the first poster. In this one the main characters in the trailer are theones in the centre, Dan, Alice and Emma. They all anchor one another so the audience knows that they all relate to eachother somehow. We all anchor eachother in some way to show to show that we all know eachother and are in the same circle of friends.

FIRST DRAFT ANCILLARY
This is the first attempt at our billboard poster ancillary. By using the grand staircase as the background it represents the wealth and status that these characters think they have. The word 'REEM' has a crown on it, again to imply that they think they are of a higher class, that they are like royalty.
The composition of this ancillary doesn't work that well as me and Dan are centred and yet I am not one of the main characters in the trailer, therefore it doesn't reflect the trailer very well. This was done so that Alice, Emma and Dan are all anchoring one another as they're part of the same storyline.
The poses that we are all doing are similar and the boys poses are quite over-dramatic which is one of the conventions of a parody. This is one of the things that makes our soap funny, appealing to the audience and meets the convetions of our genre as the boys are going against the male stereotype and showing a more metrosexual side.
FRONT COVER EXAMPLES
These are examples of existing TV magazine front covers. I have shown examples of two types of TV magazines. The top four examples are of 'TV & Satellite week' magazine. This is a more up-market and sophisticated magazine compared to 'TV Choice' or 'We Love Telly'- which are shown in the bottom four examples. I have chose these magazine covers as they have more than one star on the front. In our soap we plan to have a more dominant storyline which will feature on our magazine front cover therefore we will have more than one character on the front. In all of these example there is one character that is more promenant than the others which shows that they are the main character within the storyline, again this is something we plan to do.
If we choose to create a more sophisticated magazine such as 'TV & Satellite week' then we will most probably have a grand entrance to a mansion as the background. This is one of the conventions of this magazine as in the 'The Apprentice' cover we see a sky view of London in the background and the 'Monroe' cover we can see a doctors theatre in the background.
On the other hand if we chose to make more of a trashy magazine we would have an attention grabbing headline rather than the name of the soap. This makes the audience who enjoy this magaizne want to buy it more as it is more scandalous. We would also use bright colours, mostly primary colours as they clash and stand out against one another, again to catch the audiences attention.

Existing TOWIE Ancillaries
These are some existing TOWIE ancillaries. They range from magazine covers, TV titlecards, posters and T-Shirts. The characters are in most of these ancillaries, yet the ones they are not in we still know that they are fron TOWIE. An example would be the T-Shirts with the word 'REEM' on them. We know that this is a convention of this soap therefore we instantly associate it with TOWIE, this is another reason why we are going to call our soap REEM so that poeple know it is a parody of TOWIE.

FINAL MAGAZINE COVER
I have chosen to go with this magazine cover as it looks a lot more professional than the one I created. It is more sophisticated like the 'TV & Satellite week' magazine whereas mine was more of the trashy 'TV Quick' style. Although the audience that this soap would appeal to may not read this magazine, it does fit all the conventions of both the soap and the magazine.
The characters of the soap think that they are wealthy and this magazine is aimed at people who actually have the wealth and sophistication and would make fun of these kind of people who feauture in 'REEM'.
The conventions of this magazine is to have an image as the background rather than a plain colour, we have done this with the image of an entrance to what looks like a big house. Another convention is to have the name of the programme as the headline rather than gossip- again we have done this with our soap and all the other soaps that we have featured on the front cover.
