FINAL BILLBOARD POSTER

This is our final banner, we chose to have the Louis Vuitton background as it reflects the wealth these characters think they have and they think they can afford this brand. This brand in recent years has become of a lower status as many fakes have been made and it has been associated with 'chavvy' people.
The composition of the characters on this is slightly different to the one on the first poster. In this one the main characters in the trailer are theones in the centre, Dan, Alice and Emma. They all anchor one another so the audience knows that they all relate to eachother somehow. We all anchor eachother in some way to show to show that we all know eachother and are in the same circle of friends.

FIRST DRAFT ANCILLARY

This is the first attempt at our billboard poster ancillary. By using the grand staircase as the background it represents the wealth and status that these characters think they have. The word 'REEM' has a crown on it, again to imply that they think they are of a higher class, that they are like royalty.
The composition of this ancillary doesn't work that well as me and Dan are centred and yet I am not one of the main characters in the trailer, therefore it doesn't reflect the trailer very well. This was done so that Alice, Emma and Dan are all anchoring one another as they're part of the same storyline.
The poses that we are all doing are similar and the boys poses are quite over-dramatic which is one of the conventions of a parody. This is one of the things that makes our soap funny, appealing to the audience and meets the convetions of our genre as the boys are going against the male stereotype and showing a more metrosexual side.

FRONT COVER EXAMPLES

These are examples of existing TV magazine front covers. I have shown examples of two types of TV magazines. The top four examples are of 'TV & Satellite week' magazine. This is a more up-market and sophisticated magazine compared to 'TV Choice' or 'We Love Telly'- which are shown in the bottom four examples. I have chose these magazine covers as they have more than one star on the front. In our soap we plan to have a more dominant storyline which will feature on our magazine front cover therefore we will have more than one character on the front. In all of these example there is one character that is more promenant than the others which shows that they are the main character within the storyline, again this is something we plan to do.
If we choose to create a more sophisticated magazine such as 'TV & Satellite week' then we will most probably have a grand entrance to a mansion as the background. This is one of the conventions of this magazine as in the 'The Apprentice' cover we see a sky view of London in the background and the 'Monroe' cover we can see a doctors theatre in the background.
On the other hand if we chose to make more of a trashy magazine we would have an attention grabbing headline rather than the name of the soap. This makes the audience who enjoy this magaizne want to buy it more as it is more scandalous. We would also use bright colours, mostly primary colours as they clash and stand out against one another, again to catch the audiences attention.

Existing TOWIE Ancillaries

These are some existing TOWIE ancillaries. They range from magazine covers, TV titlecards, posters and T-Shirts. The characters are in most of these ancillaries, yet the ones they are not in we still know that they are fron TOWIE. An example would be the T-Shirts with the word 'REEM' on them. We know that this is a convention of this soap therefore we instantly associate it with TOWIE, this is another reason why we are going to call our soap REEM so that poeple know it is a parody of TOWIE.

FINAL MAGAZINE COVER

I have chosen to go with this magazine cover as it looks a lot more professional than the one I created. It is more sophisticated like the 'TV & Satellite week' magazine whereas mine was more of the trashy 'TV Quick' style. Although the audience that this soap would appeal to may not read this magazine, it does fit all the conventions of both the soap and the magazine.
The characters of the soap think that they are wealthy and this magazine is aimed at people who actually have the wealth and sophistication and would make fun of these kind of people who feauture in 'REEM'.
The conventions of this magazine is to have an image as the background rather than a plain colour, we have done this with the image of an entrance to what looks like a big house. Another convention is to have the name of the programme as the headline rather than gossip- again we have done this with our soap and all the other soaps that we have featured on the front cover.

Poster plan

This is a plan for our poster. We plan to have the boys on one side and the girls on the other, so they're split up like on the TOWIE posters. The logo will be central at the top, again like on the TOWIE posters. We will challenge the convention of this type of soap by using a designer background and over-exaggerating the 'wealth' that these characters have. The Louis Vuitton in the background will make the characters appear tacky as this brand was more of a 'must-have' years ago and now that there are so many fakes it will show how false they are in their appearance and lifestyle.

This is a plan for the front cover of my TV magazine cover. I will have Emma, Dan and Alice on the front cover as they are the characters that are involved in the main storyline of the trailer, therefore this is something the audience will want to read about. I will have Dan and the front of the 3 characters, Emma in the middle and Alice at the back. This is the order of importance in the storyline, this is a convention of 3 people being on the front cover of a TV magazine shown in the examples below. Dan is stuck in the middle of these two girls and he gets caught out, this will be the the story that is in the magazine.
